Cool! I’ve only used them on my lawn tractor before for plowing.

Mega jealous, I haven’t used my tire chains in years. Moving to Texas will do that.

I really wish I could fit them on my lowered Miata, had to call in to work today. Of course I'd also accept non-bald tires...

I loved putting those on my Accord... then shaming 4wd vehicles with their measly “tires.” The best part of chains is that you can also STOP better.

Never had to use those, just good tires or 4X4.

Summer tires are still better, because they make the road think it’s summer so all the snow melts away.

i made it through many a michigan winter with all seasons of varying crappyness. It sounds like it a person not knowing how to drive issue

I grew up in the UP, never more than 12 or so miles from Lake Michigan. I grew up with 2wd only and not having 4x4 as an option. It is different when you have 20 plows for the county and they can’t keep up vs 20 plows for a major metro area with well over 2 million people. It is different out here. More traffic, snow gets packed in more, making it more slippery meanwhile the 25 plows in Denver stay on the highways and 4-5 main surface roads.

Neighborhoods won’t get plowed for days sometimes after the snow stops. So you end up with the hard packed ice/snow layer that is slipperier than all hell.

Also, this winter has been comparatively mild in Michigan, so not taking your truck out of 2x4 isn’t a big deal.

However bad the roads are in MI during/after a snow fall, they are in far superior shape after half that amount in Denver. Denver is the worst city for snow removal that I’ve ever been in that sees snow on a regular basis.

Also, idiots can’t drive out here. In Michigan people keep their speed up and don’t tailgate nearly as much as they do out here. They drive 2 mph on a hill in a storm then stop halfway up, then wonder why they can’t get going.

Yep. Our street gets done by a neighbor with a pickup and plow. The next few blocks never get a plow. It’s nasty for days or weeks.
